From Whence I Come

figure, girl, scenery, painting

This painting was done in Cape Breton where we lived for 20 years and enjoyed the unique culture of the Island. The painting represents the ties to their culture and the island and to the land. Wherever Capers roam, they will always return home because family and cultural ties are so embedded along with their pride of place. This model. Angela, was a favourite of the artist and appears in many of her works created in Cape Breton. She emerged so easily in paint for the artist.
This work is in the permanent collection of Cape Breton University Art Gallery and is presently, August 2016 in a featured exhibition of collective works.
